Comment: Just ran across your web sight this week. On the 1912 through 1916 “Highwheelers”
The first letter in the model is the body type, a model A body was the same width from the drivers area to the rear of the vehicle. The M models the body got wider at the beginning of the bed area to the rear of the vehicle. The model E was introduced in 1915 and was basically the same as the M but a little longer with heavier springs and wheels.
The second letter in the ,model refers to engine cooling. The W stood for water cooling wile the A stood for air cooling.
Models with third letter an X stood for a wide track.
Thank you for getting this sight going.

Comment: Recently acquired IH truck, not sure exact year (1907-1910)? I’ve not brought home yet or tried to even move. Hasn’t been moved for 60 plus years from the old garage.Im sure to have many question an a lot to learn. Is there a good site for me to start my education about restoration ?(it’s model MWK. And no. 1020) thanks for any info. JR.
This is the reply from Jim Guthrie
Jr Your Autowagon is a 1913. The model is MWX. The model style is M, the W is for water cooled and the X means the width of the wheels (track) is for south. The width of standard buggys was a little different and you could order the Autowagon in one of two track widths. Please take a ton of pictures of the truck in the barn , pulling it out and hauling it home. You will want them in years to come. Post them on Facebook pre 1930 IH (link below} A very good owners manual / parts book can be bought from Binder books. http://www.binderbooks.com/Pre-1940%20Truck%20Manuals.htm Pictures of my 1913 MWX are here http://www.gasbuggys.com/imghiwl/ihindex.html We are on Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/316122235181405/?pnref=lhc Oldihc here: http://oldihc.org/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=5&sid=fef5a937f994eeaf6ac5eba8000052e4 Jim Guthrie
Found you site when I was looking for some info re Internationals of the 1920s. There are several 1930s Inters in NZ which I will try to recommend the owners add to this site. There is a small correction to make on the page for 1907-15 vehicles. There is a photo of a 1913 High Wheeler with the name Roger Mahon. That is the same vehicle as posted further up the page as 1907 and photo by Roger Oakley in 2002. Note the licence plate XQ79**. I don’t know Roger Mahon personally but he has an interesting collection including a couple of very early International tractors – Mogul and Titan maybe?
